SANTA comes through for Nora!!!!

Santa called on Christmas Eve. Pet Pal, a most amazing no-kill shelter in Pinellas offered a reserved suite for Nora where she can get treatment and wait for her forever home. This is truly the gift of a lifetime.
Nora still needs help and Pet Pal Animal Shelter is in desperate need of funds to continue paying their vet and maintaining their facilities to ensure that no animal is euthanized.
Please send your pledges to:
PetPal Animal Shelter
405 22nd Street South
St. Petersburg, FL 33712

(If you sent it to Avalon, they will send it to PetPal for Nora's vet bills).

You can also check out their wish list in case you have something they need or volunteer your services.

Merry Christmas and thank you all for caring and giving Nora her second chance.

I'm getting crate trained!

Hey, can you see it? I sleep through the night and actually kind of like this thing called a crate. Good thing because I'm going to have to stay calm for the three weeks of Heart Worm treatment. To tell you the truth, I prefer the couch, but the crate doesn't bother me at all. If the people could come in there with me to snuggle, then it would be perfect.
Keep passing along my blog so that I can find a forever home. I am learning a lot and I deserve a family of my own.
Thanks to Sarah's dog who is lending me her crate so I can try it out! It's the perfect size.

Asking Santa for Heat Worm Treatment

Hey there, it's Nora again. Some folks are giving some money so that I can get treated at Avalon Animal Hospital in Tampa. They have a really good treatment and a lot of dogs go over there because they are not so expensive.
The goal is $610 to cover treatment which takes 3 weeks. The first 2 days are in hospital with X-rays and bloodwork to make sure that I can withstand the treatment, then it's back then next week for a shot, and the following week for another shot and blood work again..... and supposedly, I will be heart worm free and adoptatble!
I just know there is a great family out there for me.
So far we have donations of:

* $200 Florence M
* $100 Andrea & Martyn
* $ 25 Ana N.
* $ 25 Patricia G.

all from people who want me to get well.

The funds can be sent to:

Avalon Animal Hospital
6603 N Florida Ave
Tampa, FL 33604

with the memo or note "For Nora" and they will put it towards this fund. Thank you so much for this chance of a lifetime and this special Christmas gift.

Avalon's Phone Number is (813)232-6261

Big Set Back

I interviewed at Tampa Bay Humane Society on Sunday and I passed all their tests except one:
I am a strong Heart Worm Positive. The treatment is $3000 at the Humane Society and we will know if they have the funds to treat me or not today. (However, my Foster Mom's vet will do it for $610 and it takes 3 weeks of treatment, then I can get spayed) I don’t know what all that means but everybody loves me and I feel fine right now. My foster Moms were crying on the way back home.
I have been really happy lately, I went to the dog park and everyone I ran up to petted me. I played with a lot of dogs who had forever homes. I am better at my commands and do them for others also.
Thanks for reading my blog and don't forget all the others like me.

Nora looking for a family

Hi, I'm Nora.
My foster Mom says I am curious, intelligent, lively and alert and laid back for my young age. I was roaming around with no collar nor microchip and was getting too tired to dodge cars. In fact, I was rather exhausted and hungry.

Here are my first pictures, but I already look better and much happier now that I have a bed and am in a house. I love to cuddle, I like other dogs and cats. I don't bark and play gently and I am really eager to please!

If you know of someone needing my love and attention, have them contact my rescue Mom at feraldb@gmail.com or leave a message at (813) 598-1983. I have asked Santa if he could find my Forever Family so that I could be their best Christmas present.
